Egology of a Character

On the other hand, you have different fingers.
-Steven Wright

No two characters are identical, right? If you put 10 gamers in a room and ask each of them to roll up a fighter, logic says you would get 10 different fighters. But, would all of them have max strength and be dumb as a post?

Welcome to the Evil RPG Gaming Table

“I have discovered that all human evil comes from this, man’s being unable to sit still in a room.”
- Blaise Pascal

Welcome to the Evil RPG Gaming Table web-comic. I’ve always wanted to do a comic strip, but I draw stick men. When I found StripGenerator a few months ago I thought I would give it a try, and since I received an overflow of praise for how funny and true-to-life the strip was I decided to give an official webcomic a try. My thanks to StripGenerator for making this possible.

It is also also important to note that this strip is based on my real-life gaming experiences in the past 28 years. I’ve been playing role-playing games in one form or another since junior year in high school, and over the years when I’ve told some of these stories people didn’t believe they were true. I assure you, they are. Each of the characters is based on a real person, and some of the things said person did over the past 2+ decades.

In a way it is very sad, since now that we are grown with families and responsibilities these type of experiences may never happen again. Many of us have moved away to other states, retired from gaming, or just disappeared all together. Recently we’ve gotten together to play again via the virtual desktop software Fantasy Grounds, but in many ways it isn’t the same. For those of us who have been playing for many, many years those early Saturday mornings in the back room (or in our case basement) of the hobby shop or around mom kitchen table will never come again. In honor of those unforgettable days gone by, I dedicate this comic strip.
